About the position

The Technical Sales Support role at JBT focuses on providing technical expertise and support to the sales team and customers, ensuring that individual customer requirements are met. This position involves collaborating with account managers and business development managers to respond to technical queries, prepare quotes for non-standard equipment, and deliver technical presentations to customers. The role requires a deep understanding of JBT products and their applications, as well as the ability to communicate complex technical details to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and communicate the customer value of JBT products to customers and sales teams.
  • Ensure customer requirements are fully understood and accurately translated into product specifications.
  • Develop and maintain deep technical knowledge of JBT products and their relationship to other product lines.
  • Train account managers on new products and features to enhance their consulting capabilities.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations and demonstrations to customers.
  • Support account managers and business development managers in responding to technical queries and providing detailed product knowledge.
  • Run tests with customers and estimate additional costs for complex quotes.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to meet customer expectations regarding product specifications and project timelines.
  • Conduct site visits with account managers for equipment layout creation and quote completion.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a technical sales support role, engineering, or related field.
  • Experience in food processing or industrial goods manufacturing industries.
  • Degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., engineering, business).
  • Comprehensive understanding of the technical aspects of JBT products and their applications.
  • Expert knowledge of the industry's technical standards and regulations.
  • Deep understanding of customer product requirements.
  • Innovation-driven mentality with a strong motivation to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Ability to think strategically and holistically, identifying long-term opportunities.
