About the position

The Applications Engineer will support the Clean Water segment at Sulzer, focusing on project-related engineering functions, including applications support for clean water pump projects. This role involves collaboration with distributors, sales managers, and project management to ensure accurate and timely engineering processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide applications engineering and tendering support to other applications engineers, sales managers, and distributors on clean water pump products.
• Provide project engineering and technical support throughout the Hold For Approval (HFA) process on buy/resell projects.
• Review proposals and contract documents/specifications to develop project plans and schedules.
• Prepare submittals, including producing or overseeing the production of submittal data and drawings, and act as the technical leader throughout the HFA process.
• Oversee the release and order entry by preparing documentation required for manufacturing and procurement, ensuring the integrity of all design and order entry information.
• Work with other Sulzer locations, sales channel, service, procurement, factory personnel, and suppliers to develop submittal data and resolve problems.
• Lead the resolution of technical problems during production, testing, installation, and startup of equipment.
• Develop project plans and participate in project-related meetings, maintaining status reports.

Requirements

• B.S. in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in the US clean water equipment market, preferably with an equipment manufacturer.
• Technical knowledge of pumps, pumping systems, mechanical design, and basic control systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and self-starter attitude.
• Strong interpersonal skills for teamwork and customer interaction.
• Proficiency with MS Office suite, including Project, and 2D CAD software; 3D CAD helpful.
