About the position

Carrier is seeking an Application Engineer to join the Occupant-Side Applied team, focusing on the commercial product portfolio which includes water source heat pumps, room fan coils, air terminals, unit ventilators, and vertical packaged systems. This role involves collaboration with product managers, sales teams, and cross-functional product teams to support customers effectively. The position can be based in Syracuse, NY, Charlotte, NC, or may be remote for qualified candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Support the sales of assigned products by providing accurate and timely responses to presales inquiries and assisting with equipment selections.
  • Create, maintain, and update technical sales material, including product data, technical manuals, product bulletins, marketing brochures, application guides, and technical presentations.
  • Perform presentations of sales and training material at sales offices, customer events, industry gatherings, and through webinars and recorded sessions.
  • Process customer engineered to order (ETO) requests by reviewing, documenting, and generating pricing for customer requests across multiple disciplines.
  • Work with product managers to perform competitive and market analysis, and collect sales office and customer feedback for assigned products.
  • Assist with planning and implementing product updates and new product releases, providing critical input for product roadmaps.
  • Maintain selection software and pricing systems, implementing corrections, updates, and new product releases.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2+ years of HVAC product experience

Nice-to-haves

  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience with vertical packaged units (VPAC), water source heat pumps (WSHP), room fan coils, unit ventilators, air terminals, building automation and control of HVAC equipment.
  • Product marketing experience in a technical environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Technical understanding of HVAC systems, including system design, building and energy codes, system operation, refrigeration systems, fans, electrical and control systems, and psychometrics.
  • Well-developed analytical thinking, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Experience with SAP.
