About the position

The Applications Engineer at Veolia North America is responsible for providing technical and commercial support for the ES-Commercial Purification and Disinfection products business. This role involves collaborating with sales and internal teams to prepare proposals and designs, ensuring customer specifications are met while maintaining high standards of quality and service.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and respond to customer inquiries regarding technical requests, product availability, and pricing.
• Prepare preliminary equipment designs including P&ID's and equipment layouts.
• Compile data to prepare detailed budget proposals and contract bids according to customer specifications.
• Collaborate with procurement to develop material costs for projects.
• Estimate material, assembly, and commissioning costs using various resources.
• Determine freight costs to job sites from fabrication locations.
• Work with Supply Chain on scheduling and forecasting.
• Establish and maintain records on equipment costs and specifications.
• Prepare documentation for contract kickoff meetings to transfer projects to execution teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• At least 5 years of work experience in an organization providing equipment and solutions, preferably to municipalities and industrial customers.
• Knowledge of the water treatment industry.
• Experience in estimating for heavy construction or equipment manufacturing.
• Understanding of specifications and translating them from feasibility to equipment supply.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with project bid and estimating processes.
• Familiarity with treatment systems, electrical systems, and controls.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
