About the position

The Customer Technical Solutions (CTS) - Applications Engineer role focuses on providing technical support and solutions for desktop, virtual server, and cloud-based applications. The position involves troubleshooting customer issues, conducting software demonstrations, and assisting with training material development. The engineer will work closely with software teams and customers to enhance client applications and maintain strong customer relationships in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot customer issues and requests via e-mail, phone, and on-site visits.
  • Document customer interactions in Salesforce.
  • Record software deficiency and enhancement requests in Azure DevOps.
  • Conduct software demonstrations at trade shows, conferences, and customer sites.
  • Assist with the development of training materials and support sales, marketing, and testing activities.
  • Collaborate with software team members, product managers, and customers to develop and configure client applications.
  • Actively seek new opportunities to grow the customer base and assist sales efforts.
  • Provide custom training and technical support for client products.

Requirements

  • Experience in Geospatial software like SOCET GXP and GXP Xplorer.
  • Knowledge and experience as an Information Technology (IT) administrator.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail, design, and UX awareness.
  • Ability to work independently and with little supervision in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency with virtual servers (HyperV and VMware).
  • Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose issues at the system level, including Windows/Linux operating systems, SQL Server, web services, and application integration.
  • Ability to track down root causes and prepare findings and resolution recommendations.
  • A valid passport and the ability to travel domestically or internationally.
  • Top Secret clearance required.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of work experience or equivalent experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications in SEC+, Network+, and Cloud+ would be ideal.
  • Familiarity with AWS environment.
  • Top Secret/SCI clearance.
