About the position

The Applications Engineer position at Rite-Hite Company is a critical role within the Engineering department, primarily focused on providing pre-sale and sales application assistance for all RHPC products. The main objective of this position is to ensure the proper application of products, thereby minimizing the company's exposure to product liability. The Applications Engineer will also play a key role in developing departmental training programs and company-sponsored application training for field sales personnel and customers. In this role, the incumbent will be responsible for reviewing and approving site surveys to verify the correct application of RHPC products. This involves collecting any missing information, coordinating application layouts, advising representatives on additional material requirements, and providing installation instructions along with product restrictions. The Applications Engineer will also quote products and options not included in the Published Price List, which entails determining customer needs, negotiating with vendors, generating formal quotations, and managing projects once a quotation is converted into an order. Additionally, the Applications Engineer will design special Vehicle Restraint bracketing as required, utilizing AutoCAD or Solidworks, and create necessary sales support documents such as pit details and approval drawings. The role includes reviewing pre-sale specifications and requesting approval drawings when necessary, which may involve customer visits and job site support. The incumbent will assist in developing both departmental and interdepartmental training programs and will support the Fly-In program by providing direct application assistance to customers. Regular input to departmental managers will be expected to help develop new and more efficient methods of applying and pricing products.
