About the position

The Applications Engineer will provide technical and engineering support for gear measuring machines, assisting the sales department with application verifications and demonstrations. This role involves identifying requirements for new measuring capabilities and collaborating with the development team in Germany. The engineer will also support troubleshooting efforts within the service department.

Responsibilities

• Professionally represent the client and its products to customers in the field of metrology.
• Provide technical support and engineering assistance for inspection machines.
• Demonstrate measuring capabilities to existing and potential customers.
• Identify requirements and specifications for new development and measuring capabilities.
• Develop new measuring applications and procedures in cooperation with the software design team.
• Conduct testing and validation studies of new developments and special measuring applications.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and technical documentation on equipment and software functions.
• Process customer technical inquiries.
• Install, configure, and test inspection software modules.
• Train customers and service personnel to program and use measuring machines.
• Collaborate closely with sales and service departments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering
• Five years of related experience in metrology
• Experience in coordinate measuring machines (CMM) and ideally gear inspection
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensions and Tolerances (GD&T) specifications
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including MS Excel and Word
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
