About the position

Defibtech is seeking an Applications Engineer to support operations and business growth through the development and implementation of enterprise and manufacturing systems. This hybrid role is based in Branford, Connecticut, and involves occasional travel to nearby sites. The engineer will be responsible for designing, debugging, and maintaining software applications used in the production of medical devices, ensuring compliance with regulations and promoting continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Designs, debugs, and maintains software applications used in the production of medical devices.
• Supports company manufacturing execution system (MES) applications, database, and documentation.
• Designs, troubleshoots, and documents queries, reports, and dashboards for various business enterprise systems.
• Completes, tests, and deploys planned projects and solutions on time.
• Maintains strong interpersonal communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Actively supports compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with hands-on experience working with manufacturing and/or business systems.
• Experience with VB.NET/C#.NET and Microsoft Visual Studio development environment.
• Strong knowledge of designing SQL queries and stored procedures using Microsoft SQL Server.
• Strong written and oral communication skills in a regulated environment.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Nice-to-haves

• More than 1 year of related experience.
• Experience working with data integration and/or automation tools.
• Experience working with MES and/or ERP systems.
• Experience with integration systems (SSIS, Jitterbit, Workato, Zappier, etc.).
• Experience with reporting systems (Crystal Reports, SSRS, etc.).
