The Applications Engineer is responsible for providing field applications, system design, and customer product development and enhancement. This role is crucial in supporting the Division's growth initiatives by offering sales, marketing, and design direction. The Applications Engineer may also manage specific key accounts within the Division, ensuring that customer needs are met effectively and efficiently. In terms of technical support, the Applications Engineer will provide assistance for complex fluidic systems, particularly for large OEM customers. This includes architecture design, component specification, and troubleshooting lab evaluations through various communication channels such as email, phone, and e-chat. The role also involves supporting field sales and distributors to maintain the Division's premier customer service position. Sales support is another critical aspect of this position. The Applications Engineer will engage in travel and virtual technical meetings to address customer opportunities and challenges, producing technical documentation that aids customers, reduces frequently asked questions, and attracts new customers to the PPF brand. The role also encompasses information sharing, where the Applications Engineer will lead training efforts for customers, distributors, and team members, providing timely reports that summarize findings on products, projects, or territories. Additionally, the Applications Engineer will support product management by developing a comprehensive understanding of competitive products and their market activity, collaborating with Product Management on market changes that may affect the saleability of PPF products. As a technical leader, the Applications Engineer will spearhead initiatives aimed at improving processes and procedures within the Division, working within a broad multi-functional team to support business objectives. The role also includes identifying training needs to achieve growth goals and collaborating with Application Engineering on the development and delivery of training programs. Furthermore, the Applications Engineer will lead new product introductions and sales achievements in their designated sales channels, working closely with Product Management and Marketing teams. Finally, the Applications Engineer is expected to develop a deep knowledge of designated sales channel partners, markets, and applications, ensuring they are well-equipped to support the Division's objectives and customer needs.
