About the position

Tektronix is seeking a customer-focused Applications Engineer to join their Engineering Sales organization in Beaverton, Oregon. This entry-level position is ideal for recent graduates or individuals with limited work experience who are eager to start their technical careers in a dynamic technology environment. The role involves gaining knowledge in electrical test and measurement instrumentation while providing top-tier customer application support for Tektronix products. After an initial period in the Technical Support Center, there are opportunities for career advancement within various teams at Tektronix.

Responsibilities

  • Provide top-tier customer application support for Tektronix Product Line products such as Oscilloscopes and signal generators.
  • Partner with customers to solve complex engineering challenges as they develop and maintain next-generation products.
  • Interface with Field Application Engineers, Sales Team, and Product Engineering Team to address customer equipment needs and applications.
  • Assist the sales team in driving customer preference for Tektronix products and provide pre-and-post-sale engineering support.
  • Offer hardware and software solutions through equipment recommendations, troubleshooting, and programming support.
  • Write application notes and create 'How-to' videos for customer use and internal knowledge capture.
  • Support knowledge capturing of competitive information and product capabilities into a knowledge database.
  • Occasional travel for onsite support of complex customer requests.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Physics, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
  • Demonstrable understanding/experience in using Oscilloscopes, Signal Generators, Source Meters, DMMs, or Spectrum Analyzers.
  • Engineering experience in basic test and measurement equipment.
  • Laboratory, R&D, or industrial test and measurement experience preferred.
  • Programming experience with at least one high-level language (Python, C-sharp, VB, Labview, etc.).
  • Understanding of MS Office suite.

  • Broader programming experience related to instrumentation control and measurement applications.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
