About the position

The Applications Engineer is a pivotal role within our organization, primarily responsible for providing technical support to our customers. This includes preparing customer quotations and developing business case studies for various composite applications. The ideal candidate will possess a strong ability to comprehend customer requirements and swiftly demonstrate how composite-based solutions can be effectively utilized. This involves not only showcasing the technical aspects but also providing comprehensive proposals that include costing, timing, and resource allocation. The role requires a proactive approach to understanding the needs of our clients and translating those needs into actionable solutions. In addition to customer support, the Applications Engineer will be tasked with creating and maintaining a drawing database using both AutoCAD and Inventor. This includes providing submittal drawings to the sales team and supplying detailed component drawings to suppliers for production. Collaboration is key in this role, as the engineer will work closely with engineering teams, sales personnel, dealers, and end users to fully understand design requirements. A critical skill for this position is the ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints, as well as a solid knowledge of electric motors. The engineer will also provide customer support related to door installation, troubleshooting, and electrical wiring, ensuring that all solutions are practical and effective. Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for customer quotations and business development case studies for composite applications.
  • Understand customer requirements and demonstrate how composite-based solutions can be utilized effectively.
  • Create and maintain a drawing database using AutoCAD and Inventor.
  • Provide submittal drawings to the sales team using AutoCAD.
  • Supply detailed component drawings to suppliers for production.
  • Collaborate with engineering, sales, dealers, and end users to understand design requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable engineering degree.
  • 3 years of experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • 1 year of Continuous Improvement or Lean/Six Sigma experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Operational knowledge of condition monitoring and associated applications.
  • Solid understanding of designing engineering solutions.
