The Clean Energy Smart Manufacturing Innovation Institute (CESMII) at UCLA is seeking an experienced Applications Engineer to support its mission in advancing Smart Manufacturing (SM) through innovative technology solutions. This position is vital for enhancing research and education initiatives within the organization. The CESMII operates under the Office of Advanced Research Computing (OARC) and collaborates with the U.S. Department of Energy's Advanced Manufacturing Office. The institute focuses on driving innovation in Smart Manufacturing by leveraging advanced technologies such as sensors, controls, analytics, and modeling to improve manufacturing efficiency. The successful candidate will play a key role in facilitating the frictionless movement of data across manufacturing operations, ensuring that stakeholders have access to critical information that enhances performance in quality, throughput, costs, safety, and energy productivity. As an Applications Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing software solutions that align with the goals of CESMII. This includes engaging with customers and end-users to understand their needs and translating those into effective technological solutions.
