The Applications Engineering Analyst is responsible for implementing and supporting a wide range of computing environments, which includes the role of SAP Basis Administrator along with a diverse set of application, database, and server technology skills. This position plays a crucial role in project work related to implementations, migrations, and extensions. Additionally, the analyst manages routine software upgrades and patch deployments, as well as system restart, recovery, and tuning as necessary. The role requires a proactive approach to ensure the smooth operation of SAP systems and related technologies. In this position, the analyst will follow and recommend improvements to all IT standard operating procedures relevant to the area. They will ensure that day-to-day administrative tasks for all SAP systems are completed efficiently. Monitoring system performance is a key responsibility, along with performing necessary system administration and maintenance. The analyst will lead efforts to resolve complex issues that span multiple IT disciplines and will be responsible for planning and implementing SAP upgrades across various landscapes, including DEV, QAS, PROD, ECC BW HANA, Business Objects, JAVA, OpenText Documentum, and Solutions Manager. The role also involves setting up and monitoring SAP Archiving, providing Database Administration, assisting with SAP Security Administration, and contributing to Disaster Recovery planning and testing. The analyst will document issues through established incident management or change management processes and resolve connectivity issues related to SSO, SNC, and SAPGUI. Collaboration with functional and technical team members for troubleshooting and problem resolution is essential. The analyst will develop and implement strategies for backups, patches, notes, and upgrades, ensuring rigorous quality checks for efficient use of all SAP hardware, software, operating systems, and databases. They will lead incident response efforts and perform root-cause and improvement analyses, as well as define and implement IT standard operating procedures for the area. Furthermore, the analyst will perform daily tasks, provide support, and implement upgrades for non-SAP systems, including Aventx Faxing, internal email services, Oracle 12c and higher, Oracle App Server, SUSE 12, MS SQL Server, and Documentum.
