About the position
The Application Engineer at Crestron Electronics is a second-tier support specialist responsible for resolving technical issues related to Crestron platforms and video conferencing solutions. This role involves documenting problems reported by customers, analyzing system configurations, and providing support to ensure customer satisfaction. The position requires strong communication skills and technical expertise to assist clients effectively.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain customer rapport, ensuring they understand Crestron is with them through every step of the process.
- Determine specifics for the reported problem, including a clear description, number of impacted systems, and current configurations.
- Review published documentation with customers, including Crestron and conferencing service provider documentation.
- Perform high-level analysis of log files and basic analysis of customer networks.
- Verify customers' conferencing service configurations through appropriate portals (O365/Zoom).
- Create RMAs as needed for customer sites.
- Assist in supporting Crestron customer knowledgebase by creating training materials, knowledgebase articles, and supportive documentation.
- Perform other duties or responsibilities as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years providing consistent and excellent support in a single organization.
- Knowledge of Unified Communication platforms (MS Teams, Zoom).
- Knowledge of Exchange/O365/Active Directory.
- Network diagnosis skills (COMP TIA+ preferred).
- Ability to read and interpret system schematics and floorplans.
- Ability to collect and interpret system-level data for analysis.
- Strong documentation skills to clearly outline issues and investigation steps.
- Ability to troubleshoot/create demo programs written in native Crestron platforms.
- Must be able to lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds.
