About the position

ABRISA TECHNOLOGIES is seeking an Applications Quoting Sales Engineer to join our team in Santa Paula, CA. This role serves as a critical technical and sales interface between our company and our customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for understanding detailed customer applications and identifying appropriate glass fabrication solutions. This position requires generating sales quotations along with supporting technical and costing documentation, which will be provided to production as needed. The Applications Quoting Sales Engineer will also assist production with analysis and recommend design adjustments based on customer needs. In addition to these responsibilities, the engineer will review and proscribe changes to router packets for work orders, ensuring that all necessary information is conveyed for complete work instructions. The role also involves assisting the quality department with the development of inspection processes for difficult or abnormal cases. The engineer will act as a source of technical knowledge regarding glass fabrication and related information, and will be expected to engage with customers on a technical level to ensure their needs are met effectively. This position is full-time and offers a competitive hourly wage along with a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and 401k. The ideal candidate will have a background in materials science, physics, or engineering, along with 2-3 years of experience in the glass or optical field. Occasional overnight travel may be required for trade shows or customer visits.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a general point of contact between the company and assigned customers and prospects.
  • Understand detailed customer applications and identify glass fabrication solutions.
  • Generate sales quotations along with supporting technical and costing documentation.
  • Provide production with designs and documentation as needed.
  • Assist production with analysis and recommend design adjustments.

  • Act as a source of technical knowledge regarding glass fabrication and related information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Physics, or one of the Engineering disciplines.
  • 2-3 years of experience, preferably in the glass or optical field.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to understand technical specifications and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Analytical skills to accurately translate customers' needs into products and industry trends.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and execute effectively to achieve results.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Macola ERP and Salesforce preferred, but not required.
