About the position

The Applications Sales Engineer will provide technical sales support and business development for industrial gas applications, primarily in the refining, pulp & paper, and chemicals sectors. This role involves diagnosing customer needs, developing value propositions, and collaborating with sales teams to present technical solutions. The engineer will engage in all aspects of customer relationships, from initial contact to long-term support, while also identifying new product opportunities and conducting training sessions.

Responsibilities

  • Understand technical processes for specific industrial gas applications and develop value propositions utilizing company solutions.
  • Provide proactive technical sales support and business development to 16 Regional Companies sales groups.
  • Work with local sales teams to find leads and prepare technical proposals for prospects/customers.
  • Engage in customer relationship management from initial contact to long-term support.
  • Identify and develop new products and applications.
  • Interface with internal teams and external customers and vendors.
  • Create training materials and conduct training sessions for internal and external customers.
  • Assist in the development and training of Equipment Engineers and Applications Engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • 3-10 years of applications engineering or direct industry experience.
