About the position

The Applications Sales Engineer (Regional Business Development Manager) is responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities in the industrial gases and equipment sector. This role requires leveraging technical expertise and the Linde technologies portfolio to drive sales growth in the Southeast Area, focusing on industries such as Heat Treatment, Additive Manufacturing, Automotive, Aerospace, and Metals. The position operates with minimal supervision and reports to the Director of Business Development, aiming to achieve profitable sales growth aligned with regional business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Acquire new and grow existing customers in designated territory through prospecting, lead generation, and qualification.
• Develop market and customer strategies, including business case development and analysis.
• Create proposals and provide technology pricing recommendations.
• Offer sales technical support and oversee project implementation and startup.
• Research and analyze markets, competition, and evolving industry needs to identify business opportunities.
• Initiate and implement market initiatives and growth campaigns with customer communications.
• Monitor competitive activity and formulate response strategies.
• Establish and grow relationships with potential customers, industry consultants, and vendors.
• Collaborate with internal business partners including sales, R&D, and customer service personnel.

Requirements

• BS Degree in engineering or a technical field is highly preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in technical sales within relevant industries.
• Proven track record of acquiring and growing a customer base.
• Ability to travel up to 40%.
