About the position

The Applications Sales Engineer at Linde Group is responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities in the industrial gases and equipment sector. This role involves leveraging technical expertise and the Linde technologies portfolio to drive sales growth in the Southeast Area, with a focus on industries such as Heat Treatment, Additive Manufacturing, Automotive, Aerospace, and Metals. The position requires working independently with general guidance from the Director of Business Development, and it offers a competitive compensation package that includes a base salary and commission.

Responsibilities

  • Acquire new and grow existing customers in designated territory through prospecting, lead generation, and qualification.
  • Develop market and customer strategies, business cases, proposals, and technology pricing recommendations.
  • Provide sales technical support and oversee project implementation and startup.
  • Research and analyze markets, competition, and evolving industry needs to identify business opportunities.
  • Initiate and implement market initiatives and growth campaigns, along with customer communications.
  • Monitor competitive activity and formulate response strategies.
  • Establish and grow relationships with potential customers, industry consultants, and vendors.
  • Collaborate with internal business partners including sales, R&D, and customer service personnel.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in engineering or a technical field preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in technical sales within relevant industries.
  • Proven track record of acquiring and growing a customer base.
  • Ability to travel up to 40%.

  • Familiarity with industrial gases applications in relevant process industries.
