About the position

The Applications Sales Manager for the NY and NJ Territory at Oracle Financial Services Global Industries Unit (FSGIU) is responsible for selling Oracle Banking applications software and solutions to both prospective and existing customers. This role involves managing sales through forecasting, account resource allocation, and strategic planning, while developing tailored proposals and negotiating contracts to close sales. The position requires a deep understanding of the financial services industry and the ability to build relationships with high-level executives to address their business and technology challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead go-to-market plans to achieve and exceed revenue targets.
  • Craft tailored 'case for transformation' and solution designs for each opportunity.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of the financial services industry and emerging banking trends.
  • Build relationships with high-level executives to understand their business challenges.
  • Develop and maintain account plans and opportunity strategies for critical opportunities.
  • Understand the customers' buying process and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Communicate and brainstorm with colleagues and drive feedback into management.
  • Work effectively across Oracle Line of Business team members in the defined territory.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Product Development, and Customer Success to develop a sustainable value proposition.
  • Participate in customer engagement at conferences and industry events.
  • Develop a 12-month pipeline of qualified opportunities to meet quota targets.
  • Manage opportunity lead generation and pipeline with accurate forecasting.
  • Lead deal closures in a structured manner.
  • Identify new strategic alliances to grow license revenue and expand customer footprint.
  • Build a deep understanding of the competitive landscape.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in sales management within the financial services sector.
  • Strong understanding of banking applications and software solutions.
  • Ability to develop strategic relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Experience in managing sales forecasts and account strategies.
