About the position

Join a highly successful software development team in Lincoln, Nebraska, where we specialize in application and embedded software development for the EFJohnson radio product line. Our team consists of approximately 40 talented members, and we pride ourselves on fostering a relaxed work environment that encourages collaboration and innovation. As an Applications Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining software for our Subscriber and Encryption Products group. This position requires adherence to the Product Life Cycle process, ensuring that all schedules, designs, and deliverables are met effectively. You will actively communicate and coordinate with other engineering teams and team members, providing constructive inputs and timely feedback to enhance the overall development process. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining application software for EFJohnson's subscriber and infrastructure product lines. This includes creating requirements and protocol documents for both new and existing products, ensuring that all specifications are met. Establishing and maintaining good communication within and between departments is essential to the success of our projects. Additionally, you will be tasked with identifying and correcting defects in existing products, contributing to the continuous improvement of our software solutions. Your ability to work collaboratively and your commitment to quality will be key to your success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain applications software for EFJohnson's subscriber and infrastructure product lines.
  • Develop requirements and protocol documents for new and existing products.
  • Establish and maintain good inter/intra departmental communication.
  • Identify and correct defects in existing products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • Experience with C/C++ is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team player.
  • Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Intermediate level of knowledge of development tools, test equipment, and documentation procedures is desired.
