About the position

As an Application Support Engineer for Energy Storage Systems (ESS) and hybrid energy products, you will provide expert technical support and customer satisfaction through troubleshooting, system optimization, and comprehensive support for energy storage solutions. This role focuses on enhancing system performance and reliability while contributing to product development based on field experiences. You will work closely with various teams to ensure operational commissioning of ESS and act as a liaison for technical issues, ultimately empowering clients to achieve their energy goals and fostering long-term partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert troubleshooting and system optimization for energy storage and hybrid energy solutions.
  • Support customers with operational commissioning of ESS of all sizes and configurations.
  • Act as a liaison with internal engineering and technical service teams regarding issues related to batteries, inverters, connectivity, controllers, and software.
  • Conduct detailed analyses of system performance data to identify and resolve issues, improve efficiency, and reduce downtime.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including troubleshooting guides and best practice manuals.
  • Conduct training sessions for customers and internal staff on ESS applications and maintenance.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and regulatory standards related to energy storage and renewable energy.
  • Design and create 3D models and 2D drawings for electrical systems such as wire harnesses and control panels.
  • Prepare and initiate electrical Design Notifications (DN's) for existing production products.
  • Evaluate current production products for cost reduction opportunities and lead these initiatives.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years in an Engineering related function such as Electrical Engineer or Technical Support Engineer.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or related field; a master's degree is a plus.
  • Previous knowledge of battery technologies, inverters, and controllers in industrial or automation equipment is preferred.
  • Experience with energy management software and diagnostic tools is preferred.
  • Strong customer service orientation and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Nice-to-haves

  • Good command of Spanish is a plus.
  • Experience with diesel generators and paralleling of diesel generators is a plus.
  • Prior experience working with energy storage systems and renewable energy solutions is a plus.
