About the position

The Applications Support Engineer at TA Instruments plays a crucial role in providing technical expertise and support for the Microcalorimetry product line. This position involves engaging with customers pre- and post-sale, running samples, conducting training courses, and collaborating with various internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction and successful product utilization. The role requires a blend of technical knowledge and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and support customers in their analytical needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Applications support for pre and post sales activities for the Microcalorimetry product line.
  • Run customer samples, while generating reports in an effort to close sales.
  • Provide post sales training and trouble-shooting.
  • Teach training courses, both lecture based and hands-on at New Castle, Utah and at customer sites.
  • Provide technical expertise to customers by email, phone, and in person.
  • Provide technical expertise for Sales Representatives on site assisting in the closure of business.
  • Hold technical presentations during sales calls.
  • Teach demonstrations both in the New Castle/Utah office, field offices, and at customer sites.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in the field of Biophysical Chemistry or Protein Chemistry.
  • Ph.D. is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-4 years of relevant analytical experience in industry or academia.
  • Clear understanding of the science of Microcalorimetry with experience in Isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC), Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and Isothermal calorimetry.
  • Working knowledge of thermal characterization of polymers and pharmaceuticals is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to travel by both air and ground carrier.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in international travel.
