About the position

The Applications Systems Analyst II in the Assessor's Office is responsible for solving technical problems related to assessment and appraisal data using GIS and ESRI applications. This role involves managing projects, creating GIS maps, and providing technical support and training to office staff, ensuring efficient end-user experiences. The analyst will also analyze data, develop metrics, and recommend solutions to enhance operational strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Compiles data and performs statistical modeling and analysis of structured and unstructured datasets.
  • Develops metrics, identifies trends and patterns, and presents analysis through reports and presentations.
  • Works with end-users to understand data and analysis needs and develop technical requirements.
  • Provides written and verbal recommendations to management for ongoing insight into strategy and operations.
  • Interfaces with other County IT employees to coordinate deployment and implementation of shared resources.
  • Designs, programs, and maintains applications and databases, and plans application development projects.
  • Resolves technical issues and develops customized GIS systems that meet evolving business needs.
  • Assists the office with planning for new technology needs, defining hardware, software, communications, and network access requirements.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Two years of database administration and technical support experience, or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of administrative procedures associated with GIS or Cadastral Cartography.
  • Experience working in the public sector or in a customer service capacity.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of technology management, system development, and systems integration in a government environment.
