About the position

The Applications Systems Analyst II at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) plays a crucial role in supporting revenue cycle staff by optimizing the use of Epic Resolute Professional Billing (PB). This position involves analyzing user needs, developing software solutions, and customizing applications to enhance operational efficiency within clinical and operational workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and support the development, creation, and modification of applications software or specialized utility programs to support clinical and operational workflows within the Epic Systems.
  • Analyze clinical or operational workflows supported by the assigned products and their relationship to the technical environment in which they operate.
  • Implement and maintain Epic systems and databases to ensure optimum performance.
  • Manage complex information system projects/products to provide automated solutions.
  • Maintain Epic applications and facilitate updates, new releases, and system enhancements.
  • Communicate project and team status to internal and external audiences to keep the project team informed.
  • Develop program logic for new applications or analyze and modify logic in existing applications.
  • Code, test, debug, document, implement, and maintain software applications.
  • Carry out work assignments designed to prepare developer for promotion to the next level of application development.
  • Represent MCW while working with business and hospital affiliates regarding systems configuration, testing, debugging, and other applications analysis activities.
  • Communicate with application vendors to debug, test, and resolve application failures.
  • Use established procedures and tools to help end users more effectively use Epic.
  • Assist in identifying and supporting activities to better support end user experiences by using data and participating in meetings related to the provider and end user proficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • 3 years of experience working in an academic medical center.
  • Prior experience with professional revenue cycle is required.
  • Epic Resolute experience is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification in one of the following Epic modules: PB Resolute, PB Resolute with SBO, PB Claims Administration and PB Electronic Remittance, Epic Transplant workflows, Epic Reporting Workbench and Dashboards, Epic Import/Export batch jobs.
