About the position

The Applications Systems Analyst at McNaughton-McKay Electric Company is responsible for supporting current and future business systems, computers, and infrastructure, as well as user requirements in these areas. This role involves consulting with users, documenting program development, and participating in the implementation of tools to meet business needs. The analyst will also assist in user training and resolve issues related to business and management information systems.

Responsibilities

  • Consults with users to identify current operating procedures and clarify program objectives.
  • Writes documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, and corrections.
  • Develops and documents commonly used practices and procedures.
  • Participates in the implementation of tools created to address identified business requirements.
  • Assists in the user training process.
  • Assists in the resolution of user and system issues surrounding the business system and MIS systems.
  • Supports the business systems and computer infrastructure, including back-up procedures, code movement and testing, upgrades, system maintenance, and project team duties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 3 to 5 years' experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified; 7+ years of professional experience considered in lieu of the educational requirement.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and database concepts (Progress database a plus).
  • Knowledge of a broad range of relevant multi-user business systems, applications, and/or equipment.
  • Working knowledge of Infor's SX. enterprise (Trend) application.
  • Proven organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate with and understand the requirements of the users in the functional areas of specialty.
