About the position
The Applicator I position at Insight FS involves operating commercial sprayers or floaters to apply crop inputs to producer fields. The role requires maintaining and operating trucks and other equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and contributing to customer satisfaction and organizational profitability.
Responsibilities
- Operates commercial sprayer or floater to apply crop production inputs to fields and crops.
- Records application data according to regulations and standards.
- Sets up material handling, blending, storage, transport, and application equipment for product delivery.
- Blends products according to recommended rates and procedures.
- Safely operates sprayers, floaters, and trucks to meet company and DOT standards.
- Conducts daily safety checks of assigned vehicles and equipment, including pre-trip inspections.
- Loads and unloads materials safely on/off trucks, trailers, or railcars.
- Ensures proper distribution of products on trucks and meets axle weight requirements.
- Responsible for inventory control and daily application record submissions.
- Maintains, repairs, and services location equipment and vehicles as needed.
- Collects and records soil sample information following proper procedures.
- Follows GROWMARK's Code of Conduct and safety policies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 0-2 years of related work experience.
- Must have or obtain a CDL license with required endorsements and a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to obtain and maintain required pesticide or fertilizer applicator licenses or certifications.
- Ability to work extended hours and be on-call as needed.
- Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making, and skill development.
