About the position
The position involves operating commercial sprayers or floaters to apply crop inputs to producer fields, while also maintaining and repairing vehicles and equipment. The role requires adherence to safety standards and regulations, as well as effective record-keeping and inventory management.
Responsibilities
- Operates commercial sprayer or floater for applying crop inputs to fields.
- Records application data according to regulations and standards.
- Sets up material handling, blending, storage, transport, and application equipment.
- Blends products according to recommended rates and procedures.
- Safely operates sprayers, floaters, and trucks to meet company and DOT standards.
- Performs daily safety checks of assigned vehicles and equipment.
- Loads and unloads containers, pallets, or materials safely.
- Ensures products are evenly balanced and proper axle weights are met.
- Responsible for inventory control and daily application records.
- Schedules maintenance and repairs of vehicles and equipment.
- Maintains an appropriate inventory of parts for repairs and maintenance.
- Maintains service records of equipment and vehicles.
- Responsible for housekeeping of the shop.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent and 5 years of related work experience.
- Skills in fabrication, cutting, welding, bearing replacement, engine service, automotive electrical, brake adjustment, and hydraulic troubleshooting.
- Demonstrates business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making, and skill development.
- Must have or obtain and maintain a CDL license with required endorsements and a satisfactory driving record.
- Acceptable CDL with Hazmat and tanker endorsements is required.
- Must hold and maintain required pesticide or fertilizer applicator licenses or certifications.
- Ability to work extended hours and on-call as needed.

- Experience with soil sampling procedures.
- Knowledge of GROWMARK's policies and procedures.
