About the position

The Applied AI Engineer role focuses on enhancing security through innovative AI solutions. The position is part of the Security AI Research team, which aims to defend customers against digital threats by leveraging generative AI capabilities. The engineer will establish processes, infrastructure, and frameworks to support research scenarios, including data engineering and the development of AI systems. This role is ideal for individuals looking to make a significant impact in the security industry by working with cutting-edge AI technology.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with applied research and product teams to develop advanced AI services and automation tools for autonomous defense.
  • Design and implement a scalable AIOps system for experimentation and production environments, ensuring robust and efficient operations.
  • Participate in the development of AI experimentation and observation platforms, driving continuous improvement of AI models and Agentic AI.
  • Work closely with technical staff from other security products to integrate and enhance security solutions.
  • Develop comprehensive technical designs and architectures to transition research innovations into practical, shipping products.
  • Foster leadership and collaboration across research and product teams, breaking down silos and driving collective success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline AND 2+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience shipping at least one large-scale ML/AI-based service or application, preferably in the security domain on cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP, etc.).
  • Cloud ML and SaaS engineering experience.
  • Ability to meet customer and/or government security screening requirements.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years of technical engineering experience.
  • Experience in SecDevOps and MLOps/AIOps.
  • Experience with Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow, or other machine learning frameworks.
  • Experience working with LLM (Large Language Model) and OSS GenAI (agent-based) frameworks.
  • Experience with at least three of the following: Apache Spark, GraphDB, VectorDB, Python, LLM (OpenAI, etc.), C#, Azure and/or AWS API and Service.
