About the position

The position involves working with MITRE's government and industry homeland security sponsors to enhance cybersecurity across government and critical infrastructure. The role requires a collaborative approach to understand unique missions and constraints while applying engineering expertise to develop innovative cybersecurity solutions. Candidates will engage in various activities, including defining security requirements, developing architectures, and operationalizing cyber protection technologies.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with government and critical infrastructure sponsors to improve cybersecurity of mission-critical systems.
• Apply interdisciplinary competencies in secure systems architecture, security operations, threat actor behavior, risk assessment, and network security.
• Develop requirements and perform applied research and development activities for cybersecurity solutions.
• Define security architectures and evaluate solutions for on-premises and cloud deployment models.
• Develop and operationalize cloud-based cyber sensor and analytics architectures.
• Apply zero trust principles to develop pilots and proofs-of-concept for multi-cloud environments.
• Build advanced cybersecurity testbed environments for research and development of analytics capabilities.
• Conduct cyber mission dependency, criticality, and adversary analyses.

Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; or 6 years with a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years' experience; or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Experience in integration and cybersecurity of multi-SaaS environments.
• Experience applying zero trust principles for multi-cloud environments.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working with federal departments and agencies or critical infrastructure organizations.
• Experience with electric utilities, gas utilities, or water utilities.
• Strong writing and communication skills.
