The Cyber Resiliency Department, part of MITRE Labs and the Cyber Solutions Innovation Center, is seeking a Cybersecurity Principal to support Navy Case Managers for critical Foreign Military Sales Partners in the INDO-Pacific Area of Responsibility. This role is pivotal in providing cybersecurity and cyber resilience engineering, consultation, and leadership in policy application, risk management, resilient architecture development, cybersecurity capability integration, and active cyber defense operations. The Cybersecurity Principal will engage with various government stakeholders, including action officers, Case and Program Managers, combatant command senior leaders, foreign partner desk officers, and DoD/OSD policymakers, to modernize Partner command and control capabilities, tactical data link communications, and position, navigation, and timing services.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the focal point for cybersecurity and cyber resilience engineering for Navy Case Managers.
  • Provide consultation and leadership in policy application and risk management.
  • Develop resilient architecture and integrate cybersecurity capabilities.
  • Engage with government stakeholders at various levels to support modernization efforts.
  • Lead active cyber defense operations in support of tactical data link and communications services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 10+ years of related experience, including 2 years in a leadership role, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Possess and maintain a Secret level security clearance.
  • Expertise in resilient architectures, applied resiliency solutions, active defense technologies, or strategic resiliency research.
  • Familiarity with Cross Domain Solution engineering and controlled interface engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of cyber threats, attack vectors, and countermeasures.
  • Experience in security architecture development and systems integration for enterprise infrastructures.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain customer relationships as a trusted advisor.
  • Familiarity with DoD Acquisition processes and system development lifecycle principles.

  • Experience with Defensive Cybersecurity Operations and Active Cyber Defense.
  • Knowledge of architectural and operational vulnerability analysis.

  • Knowledge of model-based system engineering and digital engineering approaches.
