About the position

Design Pickle is seeking an experienced Applied Machine Learning Engineer to enhance our creative platform by developing AI-driven applications and data solutions. This role involves building and maintaining data pipelines and models to support decision-making and actionable insights, with a focus on generative AI applications. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of data science and software engineering skills, enabling them to create scalable and flexible solutions while mentoring team members and collaborating across departments.

Responsibilities

• Rapidly conceptualize, develop, and deploy web applications that are data-driven and leverage AI.
• Utilize Python data science libraries such as Pandas and Scikit to process, analyze, and transform data for AI applications.
• Design, implement, and integrate production-grade generative AI APIs into applications.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to team members in data-centric roles.
• Apply AI prompt engineering techniques to enhance model performance.
• Architect and deploy scalable data solutions supporting AI models and products.
• Balance rapid prototyping with production-grade development.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and communicate technical insights effectively.
• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of emerging AI tools and technologies.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in data science and web application software engineering.
• 2+ years in building full stack applications to prove out concepts and prototypes.
• 2+ years of experience building out AWS Ops architecture.
• Ability to communicate proactively and cross-functionally with audiences of varying technical ability.
• Proficiency in Python for data analysis and machine learning.
• Familiarity with Pandas and Scikit, and other data science libraries.
• Proficiency with Snowflake, including data integration and leveraging these within machine learning workflows.
• Knowledge of implementing and integrating generative AI models and APIs.
• Experience with Gen AI prompt engineering and prompt optimization.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Nice-to-haves

• BA/BS in Computer Science or related STEM field.
• Knowledge of containerization and deployment using tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Passion for staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI and ML.
• Experience with Ruby on Rails backends and React.js.
