About the position

The Applied Scientist I position at Amazon.com Services LLC focuses on demand forecasting and supply optimization for the Amazon device family. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create scalable solutions that enhance forecasting accuracy and improve supply chain efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Research and develop new methodologies for demand forecasting, alarms, alerts, and automation with advanced models and methods.
• Improve upon existing methodologies by adding new data sources and implementing model enhancements.
• Drive scalable solutions and create performance metrics.
• Create, enhance, and maintain technical documentation, and present findings to other scientists, engineers, and business leaders.
• Drive best practices on the team.

Requirements

• Master's degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, machine learning, or equivalent quantitative field.
• 2+ years of experience building machine learning models for business applications.
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python, or related languages.
• Proficiency in model development, validation, and implementation.
• Strong programming skills in Python, R, or Scala.
• Good knowledge of SQL, Redshift, and AWS infrastructure.
• Experience with data management and/or high-performance computing.
• Experience working in command-line Linux environments.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with time series modeling and machine learning forecasting.
• Experience implementing algorithms using both toolkits and self-developed code.
