About the position

Performance Contracting Group is seeking a skilled carpenter to join our team. In this role, you will perform a variety of carpentry tasks that include the construction, installation, erection, maintenance, fabrication, and repair of wooden structures and fixtures. Your work will encompass a range of activities such as architectural woodwork, millwork, trim, concrete forms, metal and wood framing, drywall, and acoustical ceilings. You will be responsible for cutting, shaping, and smoothing lumber and other materials according to precise measurements, ensuring that all tasks are completed with high-quality workmanship. As a carpenter, you will review blueprints or specifications to determine work requirements and complete assigned tasks efficiently. Operating a variety of power and manual tools and equipment is essential, and you will be expected to perform heavy physical labor as part of your daily responsibilities. Safety is a top priority; therefore, you must follow established safety rules and regulations while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This position is safety-sensitive, requiring you to be in a constant state of alertness and to perform all job duties in a safe manner. Additionally, you will be expected to follow instructions from supervisors and foremen and may be assigned other related duties as needed. The role requires a solid knowledge of carpentry and construction techniques and procedures, as well as the ability to perform basic math. On-the-job training will be provided to help you develop your skills further. This position is part-time and requires you to be physically able to perform assigned tasks, including lifting up to 40 pounds at a time and standing for prolonged periods, often working outdoors.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of skilled carpentry work in construction, installation, erection, maintenance, fabrication, and repair of wooden structures and fixtures.

  • Ability to perform all job duties and associated work functions in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Follow instructions from supervisors and foremen.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
