About the position

The Apprentice Critical Operations Technician (ACOT) position is part of the Women in Data Centers program at STACK Infrastructure, aimed at attracting and retaining women in the data center industry. This apprenticeship provides training and guidance for individuals with little to no experience, focusing on mechanical, electrical, and fire life safety responsibilities within data centers. The role is designed to foster a diverse and inclusive work environment while ensuring that new employees have the necessary tools to succeed in a fast-paced, high-stress setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in mechanical operations including working on chilled water systems, HVAC systems, and central plant operations.
• Support electrical operations involving power distribution from utility/generator main switchgear through UPS systems to customer loads.
• Monitor fire life safety systems including wet sprinkler systems and associated detection devices.

Requirements

• High school diploma, some college, or a bachelor's degree.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications and database housing software.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and work well in stressful situations.
• Physical ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
