About the position
The Apprentice Electrician position at Vulcan Materials Company involves learning and assisting in the maintenance and repair of electrical systems and equipment within the construction aggregates industry. This role emphasizes safety, hands-on training, and the development of skills necessary for a successful career in the electrician trade, all while contributing to meaningful work that impacts communities across the United States.
Responsibilities
- Promote safety in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards throughout the plant.
- Learn the practices, methods, tools, materials, and equipment of the Electrician's trade.
- Assist in the service, repair, calibration, regulation, fine-tuning, and testing of machines and electrical systems.
- Help in stringing overhead and underground lines and cables, and in installing conduit and wire.
- Learn to read and draw simple electrical sketches and work with blueprints and schematics.
- Detect and diagnose electrical wiring and machinery problems, making corrections to improve reliability.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
