About the position

The Apprentice Field Coordinator will assist in the management of Construction Apprenticeship and IRA operations at Black & Veatch. This role focuses on ensuring compliance with applicable rules and regulations, managing certified payroll, and overseeing apprentice enrollment and ratios. The position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently while providing support to various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the day-to-day management of Construction Apprenticeship and IRA operations.
  • Ensure the integrity of pay information for certified payroll and apprenticeship applications.
  • Perform and oversee activities related to apprentice enrollment and ratios.
  • Address craft certified payroll issues and provide resolutions for complex problems.
  • Gather information for IRA internal and external reporting and submit on client portals.
  • Enter payroll data into compliance monitoring software to verify compliance with IRA/Prevailing Wage Requirements.
  • Coordinate efforts across multiple functions to deliver Project Execution payroll services.
  • Ensure adherence to IRA Plan and Apprentice Procedures.
  • Review timekeeping and certified payroll reports for accuracy for IRA reporting.
  • Identify and assess improvement opportunities and support continuous improvement efforts.

Requirements

  • 3+ years relevant experience required.
  • Some related open shop and/or union experience required.
  • Some Direct Hire experience required for Direct Hire assignments.
  • Strong computer skills, including typing and system/software knowledge.
  • Accurate data entry skills with great attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
