Apprentice Fish Cutter (#09, Pearl City)

About the position

The Apprentice Fish Cutter position at Foodland involves working in the seafood department to ensure high-quality seafood products are available for customers. This role includes responsibilities such as cutting, preparing, and merchandising seafood, as well as assisting customers with their requests and inquiries. The position is part-time and offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Ensure seafood cases are well-stocked with fresh, high-quality seafood products.
• Receive, stock, cut, prepare, wrap, weigh, price, and attractively merchandise seafood department products.
• Maintain proper inventory control and product rotation to maximize freshness and minimize waste.
• Attend the service case and assist customers with special requests.
• Answer questions about seafood products and help increase sales by offering product samples and recommending additional items.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school education preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to frequently lift, maneuver and carry up to 75 pounds.
• Must successfully pass apprentice/training program (applies to apprentice only).
• Must have TB Clearance.
• Must comply with all company policies and requirements.

Nice-to-haves

• 1 year of fish cutting experience (preferred).
• 1 year of food prep/handling experience (preferred).
• 1 year of customer service experience (preferred).
• TB Clearance (preferred).
