About the position

The position involves leading the restaurant team in daily operations at Chipotle, ensuring adherence to company policies and standards. The role includes acting as a General Manager in their absence, training and developing staff, managing schedules, and maintaining high standards of food quality and customer service. The ideal candidate will foster a positive work environment and support the growth of team members while ensuring operational efficiency and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the restaurant team in successful day-to-day operations by example and as a role model of Chipotle's values.
  • Acting as General Manager when the General Manager is not present in the restaurant.
  • Training and developing the restaurant team, especially Kitchen and Service Managers.
  • Ensuring employees are paid properly, receive appropriate benefits, and are prepared for career opportunities.
  • Identifying talent, interviewing, and hiring new Crew members.
  • Participating in personnel decisions regarding the restaurant team, including transfers and terminations.
  • Writing schedules that meet business needs while maintaining financial responsibility.
  • Assisting the General Manager with administrative duties including payroll, inventory, food ordering, and cash handling.
  • Communicating company changes and focus to the team effectively.
  • Building sales and managing the restaurant budget.
  • Maintaining a clean restaurant with excellent quality food and customer service.
  • Ensuring cleaning and sanitation standards are upheld within the restaurant.
  • Assisting with local store marketing opportunities.
  • Emphasizing and adhering to safety and security standards, training employees in appropriate responses to unsafe situations.

Requirements

  • Ability to develop positive working relationships with all restaurant personnel.
  • Clear communication skills and attentive listening to guests and employees.
  • Ability to speak, write, read, and understand the primary language(s) of the work location.
  • Adaptability and success in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous supervisory experience in the restaurant industry.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Ability to lead and develop people.
  • Experience as a Chipotle Service Manager.
  • A.A. or B.A./B.S in a related field or equivalent education and experience.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use a PC and Microsoft Office Suite.
