About The Position

Otter Tail Power is seeking a full-time Journeymen or Apprentice Electrical Line Worker to support the maintenance and repair of electrical distribution and transmission systems. This role is essential for ensuring reliable service to customers and involves various outdoor tasks in all weather conditions.

Requirements

• Diploma from an accredited line worker program.
• Valid, unrestricted interstate commercial driver's license.
• Knowledge of electric line construction, maintenance, and repair.
• Ability to work outdoors in any weather conditions.
• Ability to climb and work at heights.
• Complete knowledge of safety rules and regulations.
• Ability to work well with others.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with electrical instruments and hydraulic equipment.
• Familiarity with aerial basket operations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair overhead and underground electrical distribution and transmission systems and substations.
• Frame and erect poles and attach necessary fixtures and equipment.
• String, sag, and splice conductors (wires) and connect transformers and other equipment.
• Trim trees and replace broken insulators, split crossarms, cutouts, ties, faulty clamps, or braces.
• Perform replacement or repair work to clear up storm damage.
