About The Position

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
• Course work in electrical line repair and construction.
• More than two years of progressively responsible related experience.
• Apprentice Line Training and certification preferred but not required.
• ITS (Substation) Certification preferred.
• CDL Class B preferred.

Responsibilities

• Builds, installs, and connects transformers, meters, UDR cable, and other equipment on overhead and underground distribution.
• Strings wire and sets poles and other related equipment used on the distribution system.
• Assists with the duties of apprentice lineman.
• Trims tree limbs obstructing and endangering electric lines.
• Performs 'on-call' duty after hours and on weekends and holidays; identifies problems and repairs electrical distribution system or telecommunications lines.
• Assists lineworker in job duties.
