About the position

Avocet Aviation Services, an FAA Certified Repair Station located in Central Florida, is currently accepting applicants for our Registered Apprenticeship Program. This apprenticeship program is designed to provide hands-on experience and mentorship to individuals eager to jumpstart their careers in Aviation Maintenance. As an apprentice, you will work closely with experienced aircraft mechanics and other professionals to gain practical skills and knowledge. This is a unique opportunity to learn from industry leaders and contribute to real projects while developing your expertise in Aviation Maintenance. At the conclusion of our 30-month program, you will be eligible to test for your Airframe and Powerplant certifications. The apprenticeship program emphasizes practical training and mentorship, allowing you to engage in various tasks that are essential to aircraft maintenance. You will be involved in learning how to inspect, repair, and maintain aircraft systems, ensuring they meet safety and regulatory standards. The program is structured to provide a comprehensive understanding of aviation maintenance, including hands-on training in a real-world environment. To qualify for this apprenticeship, applicants must meet specific minimum qualifications, including having a High School Diploma or High School Equivalency, being at least 18 years of age, and possessing a current and valid driver's license. Additionally, candidates must have reliable transportation, reside in the State of Florida, and pass a pre-employment drug test, background check, and security threat assessment. The work environment is dynamic and may involve exposure to outdoor weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, and various physical demands.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Must have High School Diploma or High School Equivalency.
  • Must be 18+ Years of Age.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at full professional proficiency.
  • Must possess a current and valid driver's license (the license must remain current during the entire term of apprenticeship).
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must live in the State of Florida.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test, background check, and security threat assessment.
