About the position

The Mechanical Apprentice Trainer is a key leadership role focused on guiding and mentoring apprentices in mechanical engineering. This position involves providing comprehensive training, ensuring apprentices understand mechanical systems, safety protocols, and industry standards. The trainer will oversee hands-on learning experiences, assess apprentice progress, and foster their growth into skilled professionals, ultimately shaping the future of mechanical engineering at EGGER.

Responsibilities

  • Guide and instruct apprentices in mechanical engineering.
  • Provide comprehensive training on mechanical systems, tools, and equipment operation.
  • Ensure apprentices develop a strong understanding of safety protocols and industry standards.
  • Oversee hands-on learning experiences and offer mentorship to apprentices.
  • Assess the progress of apprentices and foster their growth and skill development.
  • Link educational content to day-to-day operations.
  • Prepare apprentices for vocational school, trainee contests, and final exams.
  • Administer a comprehensive training program for the Maintenance Department.
  • Plan training programs to develop practical skills and company knowledge.
  • Ensure all training is conducted safely and report any incidents or hazards.
  • Implement and maintain Company Quality Systems.
  • Maintain the condition and cleanliness of the training facility and equipment.
  • Act as a point of contact between school and students.
  • Participate in HR recruiting for potential students.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a training environment.
  • Hands-on practical experience with manual machining, hydraulics, pneumatics, gearbox maintenance, and welding.
  • Basic proficiency in metal processing.
  • Relevant Technical/Engineering qualification with related experience.
  • Intermediate IT skills and competent use of Microsoft Products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SAP).
  • Strong leadership skills, including mentoring and coaching abilities.
  • Strong work ethic, dependability, accountability, and follow-through.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent organization and prioritization skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Health and Safety Certificate and/or related training certifications (e.g., Train the Trainer).
  • Knowledge about Technical Mathematics and Technical Physics.
  • Knowledge about the metric system and metric blueprints.
