About the position

The Electrical Training Alliance of Jacksonville is offering an apprenticeship opportunity for individuals interested in becoming electricians. This program is designed to provide hands-on training and education in the electrical field, allowing apprentices to gain valuable experience while earning a competitive wage. The apprenticeship is structured over five years, with increasing pay rates as apprentices progress through the program.

Responsibilities

  • Complete on-the-job training under the supervision of experienced electricians.
  • Attend classroom instruction as required by the apprenticeship program.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of electrical systems and safety protocols.
  • Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School Graduate or G.E.D. with at least 1 high school credit of Algebra 1.
  • Physically able to perform the work required in the apprenticeship.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license or State Issued I.D.
  • Obtain a qualifying score on the Math and Reading Aptitude Test.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience in electrical construction (2,000 verifiable hours).
  • Interest in pursuing a career in the electrical field.
