About the position

Join Aprio's Managed Services team as an Accounting Manager, where you will play a crucial role in overseeing the monthly recurring accounting reporting for a diverse portfolio of clients. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about the digital asset industry and is well-versed in the accounting rules and regulations surrounding cryptocurrency. You will be responsible for reviewing and documenting both digital asset and fiat transactions, ensuring that all balance sheet accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis. Your role will also involve conducting second-level reviews of recurring accounting work and supervising a team of accountants, providing mentorship and support to foster their professional growth. As a pivotal member of our digital asset team, you will collaborate closely with other team members to deliver comprehensive services to our clients, which include accounting, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), and CFO services. You will serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of blockchain clients, ensuring that weekly accounting tasks and month-end reconciliations are completed accurately and on time. Your responsibilities will also include conducting initial month-end reviews of work and engaging with clients to discuss their monthly reporting. You will need to thoroughly assess clients' current and future states, diagnose errors, and implement solutions to prevent future issues. This role requires a proactive approach to project management, as you will be managing multiple clients and priorities while working towards deadlines. You will thrive in a distributed team environment, leveraging your excellent communication skills to work effectively with all levels of internal management, staff, clients, and vendors. Your expertise in digital assets and familiarity with leading sub-ledger tools will be essential in providing top-notch service to our clients in the rapidly evolving blockchain industry.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of blockchain clients.
• Collaborate and coordinate work to ensure weekly accounting and month-end reconciliations are completed accurately and timely.
• Complete month-end initial reviews for work and meet with clients to discuss monthly reporting.
• Conduct thorough reviews of clients' current and future state, diagnosing errors and implementing solutions.
• Supervise and mentor other team members, contributing to a knowledge-sharing environment.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or a related field is required.
• CPA or CFA certification is required.
• 5+ years of experience in a client-facing accounting role with a strong knowledge of financials, general ledger, journal entries, and account reconciliation.
• 2+ years of experience working with Digital Asset/Blockchain clients.
• Knowledge of Cloud accounting technology tools such as Bill.com, Gusto, Dext, and Expensify.
• Experience with Digital Asset sub-ledger tools such as Bitwave, Crypto, and Cryptotax calculator.
• Ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as clients and vendors.
• Possess a project management mindset to manage each client with consistency.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Comfortable working as part of a distributed team environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong focus on Excel and Adobe Acrobat skills.
• Excellent communication skills are a must.
