About the position

The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (Family) at Central Florida Health Care, Inc. is responsible for providing comprehensive outpatient primary care services. This role encompasses preventive care, health maintenance, acute and chronic care, clinical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and compliance with healthcare regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide out-patient comprehensive primary care services including preventive and health maintenance services, acute and chronic care, clinical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment.
  • Familiarize with CFHC's program philosophies, goals, and objectives.
  • Comply with all CFHC's policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
  • Adhere to disease management protocols and key clinical pathways to improve clinical performance.
  • Participate in Collaboratives and healthcare programs approved by Senior Management.
  • Work with QI/RM to ensure compliance with clinical measures.
  • Complete all required paperwork on time, including payroll sheets, encounter tickets, hospital encounter sheets, evaluations, and progress notes.
  • Understand and comply with CFHC's Exposure Control Plan.
  • Utilize universal precautions in the clinical setting.
  • Facilitate needed referrals for patients requiring services not offered at CFHC.
  • Participate in staff outreach and off-site healthcare programs as requested.
  • Represent CFHC in the community.
  • Precept Medical Students as assigned by CMO.
  • Assist in the review of primary care protocols and patient education materials.
  • Provide necessary information for participation in reimbursement arrangements.
  • Review incoming reports and follow up when indicated.
  • Maintain neat patient records with timely written SOAP notes and current Chronic Problem and Medication lists.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding and billing requirements.
  • Provide accurate coding information on encounter tickets.
  • Rotate to other CFHC centers as needed for coverage.
  • Provide off-hours and Saturday clinic coverage as assigned.
  • Report pertinent information to CMO regarding patient care or CFHC liability.
  • Provide leadership for medical support staff and support to Nurse Supervisor and Patient Service Coordinator.
  • Attend and participate in mandatory CFHC meetings.
  • Participate in Peer Review activities as requested.
  • Assist with the recruitment of other physicians and clinical staff.
  • Make recommendations regarding the purchase of clinical supplies and equipment.
  • Demonstrate ability to work cooperatively with other members of the clinical team.
  • Maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times.
  • Perform all surgical procedures using sterile techniques and CDC guidelines.

Requirements

  • Completion of an ARNP Training Program.
  • Valid Florida License.
  • ANCC and/or AANP Certification.
  • Insurability for malpractice.
  • BLS certification.
  • Computer literacy.
