The Operations Support Specialist (OSS) at KBR plays a crucial role in coordinating and expediting the movement of outbound shipments for the Army prepositioned stocks managed at the Army Field Support Battalion - Charleston (AFSBn-CHS). This position is vital for ensuring that logistics and maintenance operations are executed efficiently, supporting the Army's power projection doctrine. The OSS will be responsible for load planning, uploading Government Furnished Property (GFP) and commercial rail/trucks, and providing transportation support to site operations. This includes the movement of equipment and containers to and from the Port Support Activity (PSA), tracking shipments to various locations such as the Aerial Port of Debarkation and Sea Port of Debarkation, and arranging for necessary equipment to support loading and unloading of government-owned assets. In addition to these logistical responsibilities, the OSS will prepare Hazardous Declarations (HAZDECs) for joint inspections, ensuring that equipment is properly weighed, taped, and marked for air movement. The role also involves providing in-transit visibility for all equipment and preparing materials for military shipments, executing a full range of transportation tasks for ground, air, and surface movements. The OSS must adhere to DOD 4500.R Defense Transportation Regulation and utilize the Transportation Coordinator's Information for Movements System II (TC-AIMs II) to upload information into the Total Asset Visibility in-transit Processing Station (TIPS). The OSS will also provide guidance and training to lower-level supply personnel, ensuring that all operations are conducted in accordance with established guidelines. This position requires a proactive approach to maintaining paperwork and files, conducting inventories to ensure 100% accountability of materials, and systematically updating information in the Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-Army). The OSS must be adept at using Microsoft Office to create data and reports, and must be capable of conducting causative research as needed. Overall, this role is integral to the success of KBR's operations in support of the Army's logistical needs.
