About the position

The Operations Support Specialist (OSS) at KBR plays a crucial role in coordinating and expediting the movement of outbound shipments related to Army prepositioned stocks. This position is integral to the logistics and maintenance operations managed by KBR at the Army Field Support Battalion in Charleston, South Carolina. The OSS is responsible for load planning and providing transportation support to site operations, ensuring that equipment and containers are moved efficiently to and from various locations, including the Port Support Activity (PSA), Aerial Port of Debarkation, Sea Port of Debarkation (SPOD), and Central Receiving and Shipping Point (CRSP). The OSS must track shipments and arrange for the necessary equipment to support the loading and unloading of government-owned assets. In addition to coordinating shipments, the OSS prepares Hazardous Declarations (HAZDECs) for joint inspections, weighs, tapes, and marks equipment for air movement, and provides shoring as required. The role also involves maintaining in-transit visibility (ITY) for all equipment on transport vehicles and executing a full range of transportation tasks for ground, air, and surface movements. The OSS must adhere to DOD 4500.R Defense Transportation Regulation and utilize the Transportation Coordinator's Information for Movements System II (TC-AIMs II) to upload information into the Total Asset Visibility in-transit Processing Station (TIPS). Furthermore, the OSS provides guidance and training to lower-level supply personnel and assists the Supply Technician and Supervisor as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and expedite movement of all outbound shipments.
  • Perform load planning and provide transportation support to site operations.
  • Track shipments to and from various locations, including PSA, Aerial Port of Debarkation, and SPOD.
  • Prepare Hazardous Declarations (HAZDECs) for joint inspections.
  • Weigh, tape, and mark equipment for air movement, providing shoring as required.
  • Maintain in-transit visibility (ITY) for all equipment on transport vehicles.
  • Execute a full range of transportation tasks for ground, air, and surface movements.
  • Utilize TC-AIMs II and TIPS for transportation management.
  • Provide guidance and training to lower-level supply personnel.
  • Conduct inventories to maintain 100% accountability of material.
  • Update and create data/reports using Microsoft Office.
  • Conduct causative research as needed.

Requirements

  • US Citizen
  • Ability to obtain and maintain local base access
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable Common Access Card (CAC) issuance
  • Must meet government-specified requirements for deployment
  • High School diploma plus 2 years of college or technical school
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in production control/supply support or similar labor category.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in warehousing/logistics or related on the APS-3, 4, or 5 programs
  • Expertise in G-Army, CMOS, and LOGSA platforms such as FEDLOG
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products
  • Expertise in meeting the requirements of the APS-3 PWS
  • Willing and able to occasionally work remotely from a TDY location for 2-4 months
  • Experience in process improvement
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Skilled in using various Microsoft Office programs, with basic skills in Excel and Outlook.
