About the position

The Aquatic Center Leader is responsible for planning, promoting, overseeing, and conducting aquatic programs at a community aquatic center. This role involves leading part-time pool staff under moderate supervision and requires working a conventional workweek that may include evenings and weekends. The position demands moderate physical exertion and the ability to work in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and promote aquatic programs at the community aquatic center.
  • Oversee and conduct aquatic activities and events.
  • Lead part-time pool staff and provide guidance.
  • Ensure safety and compliance with aquatic regulations.
  • Analyze community aquatic needs and adapt programs accordingly.
  • Maintain records related to aquatic activities and staff performance.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patrons of the aquatic center.

Requirements

  • Graduated from an accredited high school or possession of a GED certificate.
  • Three years of experience in aquatics recreational activities, including teaching swimming lessons.
  • Hold and maintain Lifeguard Certificate, Lifeguard Instructor Certificate, Water Safety Instructor Certificate, and Certified Pool Operator.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in community outreach and engagement for aquatic programs.
  • Knowledge of advanced lifesaving techniques and emergency response procedures.
