About the position

The Aquatic Invasive Species Budget Coordinator (Financial Analyst III) position at the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources involves managing the budget for the Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) program. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can develop grant proposals, monitor funding, and provide oversight for budget management at the programmatic level. The successful candidate will work independently and collaboratively to ensure the effective management of program expenses and adherence to purchasing policies.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure program expenses are managed appropriately
  • Communicate with state and federal agencies, partner organizations, and other entities regarding applicable budget and funding issues
  • Help develop, oversee, and evaluate the AIS program budget
  • Provide oversight for program budget, cooperative agreements, and contracts
  • Ensure adherence to applicable purchasing policies and procedures

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of demonstrated successful work experience in a budget and accounting field
  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, business management, public administration, or a related field
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office and Google Suite software products
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work well with diverse people

Nice-to-haves

  • An advanced degree in accounting, business management, public administration, or a related field
  • 5 years of demonstrated successful work experience in a relevant field
