About the position

The Aquatics Operations Coordinator will play a vital role in supporting the Aquatics department by managing swim lesson schedules, billing, and overseeing the daily operations of the aquatics office. This position requires a strong focus on customer service and the ability to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all club members. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching swim lessons, training staff, and ensuring that all operations run smoothly. The role demands flexibility in working hours, particularly during peak seasons, to accommodate the needs of the program and its participants. In addition to administrative duties, the Aquatics Operations Coordinator will be tasked with supervising and training new aquatics staff, ensuring that they are well-prepared to deliver high-quality service. The coordinator will also be involved in communicating effectively with swimmers' parents, staff, and members, fostering a positive atmosphere within the facility. The position requires adherence to safety protocols and procedures, as well as maintaining cleanliness and organization in the pool area. The coordinator will also assist in hiring and training staff, oversee scheduling, and promote a culture of respect and teamwork among all employees. This role is part-time and offers a pay range of $17 to $22 per hour, with expected hours between 20 to 29 per week. Responsibilities

  • Schedule and bill for swim lessons and programs.
  • Oversee office operations.
  • Teach swim lessons or lifeguard as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with swimmers' parents, staff, and members.
  • Supervise and train new aquatics staff.
  • Participate in and assist in leading team meetings, events, and training sessions.
  • Ensure the pool area is clean, safe, and organized.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Assist with hiring and training staff, and oversee scheduling.
  • Open and close the facility as needed.
  • Promote a welcoming environment, respect, and teamwork.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in swim instruction or coaching (preferred).
  • Lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR, and AED certification (Red Cross or YMCA) (preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal and management skills.
  • Ability to learn and use new software.
  • Flexibility to work varying hours, including weekends and holidays.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1 year of lifeguard experience (preferred).
  • 1 year of supervising experience (preferred).
  • 1 year of management experience (preferred).
  • Ability to commute to Billerica, MA 01821 (preferred).
  • Ability to relocate to Billerica, MA 01821 before starting work (preferred).
